Wenn man am Lama- Gehege steht hört man oft, „ihh, die spucken!, Warum machen die das? Und tun die das Wirklich?“
Ja, das machen Lamas und nicht nur die Lamas spucken, sondern alle Kamele, also auch die niedlichen Alpakas und unsere Trampeltiere. Allerdings dient das Spucken, der Abwehr, also ist man als Besucher sicher, sofern man nicht grade im „Spuckbereich“ steht, z.B. Wenn zwei Lamas eine Auseinandersetzung haben. Gespuckt wird mit anverdauter Nahrung, die unangenehm riecht, aber nicht gefährlich ist.
Lamas sollten alle 2 Jahre geschoren werden, sie liefern eine feine Wolle, die z.B.: als Lamabett für ein gutes Schlafklima sorgt.
Außerdem sind Lamas tolle Rasenmäher, zumal sie feste Kotplätze haben und somit nicht sie ganze Wiese „vollkötteln“.
Das Wiehern unserer Lamas signalisiert uns, dass eine Veränderung In ihrem Sichtumfeld vorhanden sein muss. Sei es Der Schwarzbär der nach der Winterruhe wieder mehr auf der Außenanlage zu sehen ist oder das Nachwuchs bei den Hängebauchschweinen geboren ist.

Když stojíte u výběhu lam, často slyšíte: „Fuj, ony plivou, proč to dělají? A opravdu to dělají?“
Ano, to dělají lamy, a nejen lamy, ale všichni velbloudi, včetně roztomilých alpak a našich velbloudů dvouhrbých. Plivání však slouží jako obrana, takže jako návštěvník jste v bezpečí, pokud nestojíte v „plivací zóně“, např. když se dvě lamy perou. Plivá se natrávená potrava, která nepříjemně zapáchá, ale není nebezpečná.
Lamy by měly být stříhány každé dva roky; poskytují jemnou vlnu, která např. jako lamí lůžko zajišťuje dobré klima pro spánek.
Lamy jsou také skvělými sekačkami trávy, zejména proto, že mají pevná místa pro trus, a proto „nekálí“ po celé louce.
Bučení našich lam nám signalizuje, že v jejich zorném poli musí nastávat nějaká změna. Ať už jde o medvěda černého, kterého lze po zimním spánku spatřit spíše ve venkovním výběhu, nebo o potomky vietnamských prasat.

When you stand at the llama enclosure you often hear, “Eww, they spit! Why do they do that? And do they really do that?”
Yes, that’s what llamas do, and not only do llamas spit, but all camels do, including the cute alpacas and our Bactrian camels. However, the spitting serves as a defence, so you are safe as a visitor, unless you are standing in the “spitting area”, e.g., when two llamas have a fight. Spitting is done with digested food, which smells unpleasant, but is not dangerous.
Llamas should be shorn every 2 years, they provide a fine wool, which provides a good sleeping climate, for example: as a llama bed.
In addition, llamas are great lawn mowers, especially since they have fixed defecation places and thus do not “fill up” the whole meadow.
The neighing of our llamas’ signals to us that a change must be present in their visual environment. Be it the black bear that can be seen more in the outdoor area after hibernation or the offspring of the pot-bellied pigs.
