Slepice cestou do kurníku snědla list z kaučukovníku,
snad byl to žertík, když vypadl z ní hopík.

I kdyby to fungovalo, pravděpodobně by proto staří Číňané sotva domestikovali divokého kura a Římané by byli už dávno uznali hospodářský prospěch chovu slepic.

Station 11 Chickens

A chicken that ate, believe it or not, a leaf from a rubber tree, then ran into the chicken coop and laid a rubber ball.

Even if this would work, this is probably why the ancient Chinese would hardly have domesticated the wild Bankiva fowl and the Romans would have recognised the economic success of keeping chickens long ago. Feathers, meat and especially the eggs are today reason enough that chickens are kept in all countries of the world. By crossing different features, in appearance and characteristics, more than five hundred breeds of chickens have been created worldwide. In Germany alone there are about two hundred recognised breeds, listed in official lists. And indeed, more and more people are bringing the fowl into their own backyard. Whether there are now again more crazy court decisions, with which the proud rooster is allowed to crow only at certain times of the day?  By the way, chickens have a special digestive system consisting of crop, glandular stomach and muscle stomach or gizzard. While the uncrushed food is soaked in the crop, and comes into contact with gastric juice in the glandular stomach, the main work of digestion is done in the gizzard.  There, the food is then crushed by the grinding motion of the powerful muscles. To assist in this grinding process, chickens like to ingest small pebbles.
